Brass, Stainless Steel or PPR: Choosing Pipe Fitting Materials

Material choice is the quickest way to make a pipe-fitting offer more useful to a buyer. Brass, stainless steel and PPR each fit a different installation logic, so a clear comparison saves time during specification.

When brass is the practical option

Brass is widely used for threaded transitions, compact valves and fixture connections. Consider a brass female threaded straight coupling when the pipe line meets threaded valves or fittings.

Where SUS304 adds value

SUS304 is suited to durable press-fit applications where corrosion resistance and a clean system finish matter. See the SUS304 stainless steel equal tee for a branching example.

Why PPR remains a common choice

PPR is economical and widely used for hot- and cold-water systems that use heat fusion. A PPR 90-degree elbow is a core fitting in that system.

Specify the whole connection, not only the material
