An equal tee normally keeps the branch at the same nominal size as the main run; a reducing tee introduces a different branch size. That distinction is only the first part of the specification. Material, actual dimensions and connection method determine whether the fitting suits the project.
Write all three connections
State the two run dimensions and branch dimension in one agreed order. For a PPR equal tee, confirm the matching fusion sockets. For a SUS304 press-fit reducing tee, add the press profile and seal. A brass female-threaded equal tee needs the thread form and sealing method.
Check the installation context
Request a drawing or photo of the mating components, then ask the supplier for a dimensioned drawing. Where space is limited, confirm branch direction and tool access before final approval.
