A press-fit fitting is part of a system, not an isolated component. Similar-looking fittings can require different jaw profiles, pipe outside diameters and sealing rings. Before ordering, request the supplier’s system documents and compare them with the installation tools actually used on site.
Identify the complete connection system
Record the pipe material and outside diameter for every leg of a SUS304 press-fit reducing tee. Ask for the required jaw profile, pressing depth, insertion marks and compatible seals. A press-fit equal tee may look similar, yet the branch configuration and fitting dimensions still need independent checks.
Approve a physical sample
Have the installer or project engineer assemble a sample using the intended pipe, jaw and tool. Follow the system supplier’s instructions for visual inspection and testing. Do not substitute a generic pressure rating or certificate from a different product family.
Pre-order checklist
- Pipe outside diameters and material grade
- Jaw profile and tool compatibility
