Approving a fitting sample is useful only when the approved details can be repeated in production and identified on arrival. Link the drawing, physical sample, installation check and carton mark to the same SKU and revision.
Start with the drawing
Confirm the connection at each port, dimensions, material and intended service. For example, a CPVC brass-insert adapter needs both a socket-system reference and an insert-thread definition. A press-fit reducing tee also needs the matching profile and seal.
Test the sample in context
Have the responsible installer or engineer check the sample with the intended mating parts and tools. Record the results against agreed acceptance criteria. If the specification changes, obtain a new approval rather than treating the old sample as universal.
Close the packing loop
- Photograph the approved sample and critical connection details.
- Record drawing revision, size, material and SKU code.
- Approve inner-pack and master-carton quantities.
- Check labels against the final purchase order before shipment.
