Mixed-SKU orders can save coordination time, but a list of product names alone often leads to clarification rounds. A useful RFQ gives the supplier one row per SKU with the material, exact connection, size, quantity and packing expectation.
Separate product families
Group threaded brass items such as the brass female tee separately from fusion products such as the PPR equal tee, solvent-cement systems such as the PVC-U elbow, and press systems such as the stainless reducing tee. This makes incompatible assumptions easier to spot.
Use one row per SKU
Include a drawing or approved sample reference, material grade, all port sizes, connection standard, finish if relevant, target quantity and destination market. Ask the supplier to state any exception explicitly rather than silently replacing an item.
Before accepting the quotation
- Check that every requested SKU appears once.
- Verify lead time and packing by SKU, not just for the whole order.
- Agree which samples need approval.
- Confirm whether mixed cartons are allowed.
