A threaded fitting name is not a complete specification. Put the thread form, port size, mating component and sealing method into every RFQ before you request prices.
Specify each port
For a brass threaded union or reducing nipple, list every connection in order and state whether it is male or female. A similar-looking product can use a different thread form or pitch.
Confirm with a sample
Use the actual mating part or a dimensioned drawing. Then agree how threads, sealing faces and protective packaging will be inspected.
