A sample approval should capture more than the general shape of a brass fitting. Threads, mating dimensions, sealing surfaces and identification must be checked against the agreed drawing or reference sample before a repeat order.
Inspect the connection
For a brass female threaded tee or straight coupling, verify the thread form and engagement with the intended mating part. Record the acceptance method rather than relying on a visual comparison. Check for burrs, damaged threads and uneven sealing faces.
Document the approved sample
Keep the drawing revision, material declaration, finish reference, weight or dimensional checks where applicable, and photographs of critical details. If testing is required, specify the test method and acceptance criteria for that exact product and intended use.
Check the delivered order
- SKU, size and carton labels match the purchase order.
- Samples from different cartons match the approved reference.
- Protective packing prevents thread and finish damage.
- Any deviation is recorded before goods release.
